I arrived at the AMC Highland center a little nervous about social interactions with people I don’t

know. Immediately upon introductions, those bad feelings melted into thin air. I knew I was with

some special people. Jess’ energy and positivity filled the room like laughing gas. The hikes we

went on were amazing, meandering trails through the White Mountains, leading to the reward of

good food and nice views. Every single minute was a chance to get to know people on a deeper

level, and for some to push through the challenge of hiking up some pretty serious mountains

for the east coast. The yoga and massage aspect of the trip were perfect for grounding,

flexibility, and relaxation. We played cribbage and ping pong, sang and danced by a fire, and

invited fun people to join us in the celebration of living in the moment. I went into the trip without

much thought, except for enjoying nature with a group of people on the path of

sobriety. I left the trip brimming with love, acceptance, joy, and gratitude. I am ecstatic to

have made new friends, and plan on remaining in contact with every single one of the explorers

for as long as possible. I can’t thank the 'True You' staff enough for the hospitality, kindness,

guidance, and love. My heart is full, and I’m ready for the next trip!

I said yes to an adventure that would hopefully stretch my world–inside and out. With Jess and my fellow 'True You Explorers', I experienced this on a level beyond my wildest dreams. “I have been to the mountaintop."

'True You Explorer' is the perfect fit to my journey through sobriety. I am nine years sober from a

debilitating narcotics addiction. I never par-took in any recovery programs or rehabilitations, instead I

found and maintain a sober life through spending time in nature, exploring the outdoors as well as myself.

'True You Explorer' is a fantastic, sober, outdoor adventure, geared toward having fun, meeting like-minded

individuals in sobriety and expanding oneself in a sober lifestyle. On our trip in the White Mountains,

summiting multiple 4,000’+ mountains, I gained a broader perspective of life through nature and my time

with the group. Who by the way are all extraordinary people!! Jessica sent us a quote at the end of the trip

that reads “In every walk with nature, one receives far more than ‘they’ seek”. The meditation of

spending 7-8 hours a day hiking in the beautifully inspiring setting of the White Mountains delivered

exactly that, the mind relaxes, perspectives expand, and we, the team pushed our bodies to reach new

spaces within ourselves. This to me is what life is all about and 'True You Explorer' delivered exactly that,

so I thank you from my whole being. See you on the next one 😊

Everything was well planned and executed with excellence. It really made it easy for me to relax and enjoy the experience. Drug and alcohol free made for deeper connections with everybody in the group. I’m definitely looking forward to the next trip!
